Governor Gavin Newsom signed a first-of-its-kind deal with Anthropic, opening Claude up to all California state agencies, cities, and counties through a new centralized IT portal β with free workforce training baked in. The DMV is already using it for customer service and the Dept. of Health Care Services for internal workflows. It is the first AI productivity tool available statewide this broadly. Could this become the blueprint for how governments across the country adopt AI?
