The latest Despicable Me universe entry had a rough holiday weekend, pulling in just $61 million over the July 4th stretch โ the worst opening in the entire franchise, lower even than the original 2010 Despicable Me. Supergirl also suffered a brutal 77% drop in its second weekend, making it a tough overall holiday at the box office. Blame the Saturday holiday landing or franchise fatigue? Did you catch it in theaters?
