Refund & Cancellation Policy

Last updated: July 3, 2026

This policy explains how refunds work for Buzz Coins, BuzzThat's virtual in-platform currency. By purchasing coins you agree to this policy, which forms part of our Terms of Service.

1. Buzz Coins are a digital virtual currency

Buzz Coins are a digital good delivered to your account immediately after purchase. They have no cash value, are not legal tender, and exist only for use within BuzzThat (boosting, unlocking, or donating to content). Because coins are delivered instantly and consumed digitally, coin purchases are generally final and non-refundable, except as described below or where a refund is required by law.

2. When we will consider a refund

We may, at our discretion, issue a refund for a coin purchase if:

  • You were charged in error or charged more than once for the same purchase;
  • Coins were not delivered to your account due to a technical fault on our side; or
  • A refund is required by applicable consumer-protection law in your jurisdiction.

Refunds, when granted, are issued to the original payment method via Stripe. When a purchase is refunded, the corresponding coins (and anything they were exchanged for) are removed from your account; if those coins were already spent, the reversal may leave a negative balance that future purchases will offset.

3. What is not refundable

  • Coins you have already spent (on boosts, unlocks, or donations);
  • Coins received as bonuses or promotional credit;
  • Change-of-mind requests after coins have been delivered, except where required by law.

4. How to request a refund

Email support@buzzthat.com from the address on your account within 14 days of the purchase, including the date, amount, and a brief description. We aim to respond within a few business days.

5. Chargebacks

If you have a problem with a charge, please contact us first — we can usually resolve it faster than a bank dispute. Filing a chargeback or payment dispute may result in the related coins being reversed and your account being frozen or suspended for review, consistent with our Terms. Fraudulent chargebacks may lead to permanent account closure.

6. Creator earnings, holds & reversals

Coins earned by creators (from boosts, unlocks, and donations) are separate from purchased coins. Two rules protect the platform and all users against payment fraud:

  • 21-day holding period. Earned coins are held for 21 days from the time they are earned before they become eligible to cash out. Card disputes can be filed weeks after a purchase, so this window lets disputes surface before money leaves the platform. (We may adjust the length of this period; the period in effect when you earn applies.)
  • Chargeback & refund reversal. If a coin purchase that funded a creator's earnings is later refunded, disputed, or charged back, BuzzThat will reverse the corresponding earned coins from the creator who received them — even if those coins have already been credited, spent, or requested for payout. A reversal can reduce a creator's balance, including below zero, and the shortfall is offset against future earnings or payouts. In short: if the buyer's money is taken back, the creator's matching earnings are taken back too.

Payouts are issued manually, subject to a minimum threshold and our review. You are responsible for any taxes on amounts you receive.

7. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The version in effect at the time of your purchase applies to that purchase.
